In the legendary kitchens of the Ritz Paris

This Saturday, July 1, 2017, Manelli took over the kitchens of the Ritz Paris for the Manelli Encounters. A few lucky clients and bloggers joined us in this iconic Parisian establishment.

The Ritz, a symbol of French gastronomy

Indeed, the Ritz Paris is a five-star hotel located in the heart of Paris, at 15 Place Vendôme, in the 1st arrondissement. It is a building adjacent to the Ministry of Justice, to the northwest of the square. The Ritz Paris is considered one of the most beautiful, grand, and luxurious hotels in the world. The hotel was founded by the Swiss hotelier César Ritz, in collaboration with the chef Auguste Escoffier, in 1898. The Ritz quickly established a reputation for luxury, attracting notable guests such as politicians, film stars, singers, and more. Several of its suites are named in honor of the hotel's prestigious guests, for example, the fashion designer Coco Chanel, who lived in the hotel until her death, and the writer Ernest Hemingway, who was a frequent visitor to the Ritz. One of the hotel's bars, the Hemingway Bar, is dedicated to the writer who frequented it, and the world-renowned Espadon restaurant attracts chefs from all over the world, as the Rite is a school in its own right.

Upon our arrival, we found ourselves in the Salon Proust for a breakfast fit for royalty!

After this cultural interlude, it was time for the cooking class. We made a starter and a main course, with the dessert prepared in advance by the Ritz's pastry chef.

  • Raspberry gazpacho with langoustines.
  • Duck with cherries and tonka bean, fresh almonds.
  • Pavlova with red berries, meringue, vanilla cream and lemon zest sauce

A skilled teacher and joker, we learned many techniques from him, such as how to carve a duck, how to make a jus with its seasoning, and how to perfectly cook langoustines. ^68EA6A01557F0BC40F7BE4F64CCC8EFBC81DE0A1C27A2CADC0^pimgpsh_fullsize_distr For a day, we felt like we were part of the brigade at the Ritz Paris restaurant. This workshop was a way for us to connect with our clients and bloggers and share a friendly moment together. We wanted to make a strong impression, and it seems we succeeded—the participants were delighted! Humanizing our brand has become our primary objective. We are thrilled with the positive feedback.
